WHAT IS OUR GENERAL ENGLISH LEARNING WORKSHOP ABOUT?

This is an opportunity for people of all ages and form every professional background to take part in English learning. It is never too late to learn and improve your communication skills. English language has always been difficult to learn in Pakistan because access to international standards of learning have not been so easy to find. Symbolic Text Developers is here to offer the opportunity to everyone to join us and become better English language speakers and writers.

To join our General English Learning workshop you need to have these qualities:

  • Self-discipline – You must have the will and genuine concern of providing the client exactly what they need.
  • Be humble – There will be criticism and rejection. You have to keep going until you achieve perfection in whatever your client needs in the content.
  • The zeal to learn and improve

BEGINNER LEVEL (24 WEEKS/ RS.24, 000)

LISTENING

  • Answer easy questions e.g. informative, casual conversations, etc.
  • Identify numbers (e.g. years and dates) while listening to texts read to them
  • Listen to and learn proper pronunciation and intonation
  • Listen to and understand complete sentences
  • Listen to and understand specific personal information in conversations

  • Answer easy comprehension questions
  • Identify specific information in a text

  • Recognize the focal idea of the text

WRITING

  • Complete sentences in proper grammar
  • Learn the use of conjunctions
  • Understand grammar (verbs, adjectives, nouns, clauses, phrases, past tenses, present tenses, future tense, etc.)
  • Use punctuation and capitalization correctly in simple sentences
  • Use simple conjunctions in the English language
  • Write properly structured simple sentences
  • Write simple texts about familiar topics
ELEMENTARY LEVEL (20 WEEKS/RS.20, 000)

LISTENING

  • Answer questions in different situations
  • Follow verbal directions in proper English
  • Listen to and understand specific audio information, for example, names, numbers, countries, etc.
  • Match pictures with information
  • Understand and answer questions on in written texts
  • Understand simple telephonic conversations

SPEAKING

  • Ask and answer straightforward questions
  • Greet and introduce themselves
  • Identify pictures and outline the difference between various images
  • Talk about different topics like familiar and scenarios
  • Verbally make plans and arrangements

READING

  • Answer multiple choice and short answer questions about a text
  • Find and apply information in documents
  • Scan for the specific information and central ideas
  • Understand the texts about various topics
  • Use simple texts as facsimiles for writing

WRITING

  • Compose email messages and online texts
  • Compose well-structured sentences
  • Create questions to form a survey and also respond to the questions in writing
  • Learn the use of conjunctions
  • Pen down content with simple descriptions
  • Understand grammar (verbs, adjectives, nouns, clauses, phrases, past tenses, present tenses, future tense, etc.)
PRE-INTERMEDIATE LEVEL (16 WEEKS/RS.16, 000)

LISTENING

  • Complete given tables of info in any exercise
  • Complete listening activities as part of training to improve speaking skills
  • Identify the main facts and summarize any information when listening to texts
  • Infer the relationships of the topic and the speakers
  • Listen to gist and understand specific information in English
  • Match any information with a specific subject (like jobs)

SPEAKING

  • Describe the people he/she met or and places visited
  • Discuss his/her personal goings-on and take part in social conversations
  • Make choices in conversation and explain the different reasons for those choices
  • Narrate a story in English
  • Speak about his/her future and plans

READING

  • Be capable of having a discussion
  • Guess or understand the meaning of words written in the context
  • Speed-read to fetch the main ideas and specific information
  • Understand texts on unfamiliar and familiar topics
  • Use texts models for a variety of writing tasks

WRITING

  • Fill application forms

  • Make sentences with the complete sense

SPEAKING

  • Describe places and people in detail

READING

  • Answer questions in comprehension passages
  • Identify the different types of text (informational text, news report, narrative, etc.)
